Tom Edwards has been building and remodeling homes as a general contractor since 1977, focusing on residential new construction and remodeling in the Napa Valley since 1985. Not your typical home builder, Tom holds a Bachelor of Arts in Design and a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from the University of California, Berkeley. Tom spent years as a sculptor in the San Francisco Bay Area prior to becoming a home builder.

"Building a house is like creating a sculpture. I like to imagine the 3-dimensional finished product in my mind as it's being designed and built. I get very involved in the actual construction process. The whole construction process gives me a lot of satisfaction."

The majority of Tom's work over the years has been remodeling projects. In approaching a project, his goal has always been to take what has already been built and improve upon it. "As a builder I'm not interested in tearing the whole structure down to make it new. Eighty percent of what I've done is to step back and take a look at what is already there and make it better."
